Sandie Mundis ’71

Sandra (“Sandie”) Fortunato Mundis is the wife of Greg, AGWM Executive Director, and mother of two grown children and eight grandchildren. She is from Youngstown, Ohio, and married Greg on June 11, 1971.

The Mundises were approved as Assemblies of God missionaries to Austria in 1978 and arrived on the field in 1980. During their time of living in Austria for 18 years, they directed the nation’s Global University outreach; ministered to children, teens and adults across the nation; helped develop Christian radio and television; trained and mentored pastors; and assisted in church planting efforts. They helped to plant Vienna Christian Center, an international church that has grown to approximately 2,000 people today, and served as its pastors from 1989 to 1993.

A teacher by profession, Sandie has been active in children’s ministry for many years. During her husband’s tenure as Europe Regional Director, Sandie founded Europe’s Children, the ministry arm to the continent’s 80 million children, and served as its director for more than a decade. Europe’s children is a ministry that reaches out to children of Europe through evangelism, Christian education, and compassion ministries.

Her desire in her new role as the wife of the AGWM Executive Director is to help facilitate and resource the AGWM Executive Committee wives and be a “listening ear.” Her hope is that she can help them be effective ministers in their own right to the missionaries and missionary associates with whom they come in contact on a regular basis. She also continues to encourage children’s ministries across the world. Although spare time is rare for Sandie, she does appreciate the power of the “written page” and enjoys writing for woman and children.
